Kirum prahok powder a big hit at new salon in Phnom Penh

A new trade fair, Cambodia Annual Mega Sales, was held from 17 to 19 January 2025 in Koh Pich, Phnom Penh.

As a Gold sponsor, Confirel occupied a large stand during these 3 days. The exhibition, organised for the first time by KHB Events, was attended by around 40,000 people, mostly families from Phnom Penh.

Confirel focused on promoting Kirum Prahok Powder on its booth, with the aim of showing how easy it is to use it in any recipe.

In conjunction with the kitchen team at Penh House - our partner hotel - we were able to demonstrate the use of prahok powder, with a delicious omelette and fried fish balls (croquettes).

Video production was also on the agenda, with the help of Business Cambodia via Sam Kosal, and by Eatame (an agency specializing in the creation of videos in the food sector).

According to Chhorn Vanna, Events Supervisor at Confirel, “this trade fair went very well for us, because a lot of people came, and we sold a lot of products, especially our Prahok Powders, our Healthy Herbal Teas, our Palm Sugar and our Palm Wine”.

She adds that people came to our booth “because they saw our videos with the influencers. As soon as they walked in, customers were telling my team that they wanted to buy our prahok powder after seeing the videos on social medias”.

With almost 2 million people having seen the videos on the various platforms, they made many of them want to come and meet us.

Thanks to this success, it is likely that Confirel will take part in the 2nd edition of this trade fair, which will be held at the end of June 2025 in Phnom Penh.
